ATLGBTQ Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
ATLGBTQ Co. LTD (“ATLGBTQ”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an Atlanta platform that, since 2015, has recognized and celebrated the leaders of Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community and shared their work. We run the website at https://www.atlgbtq.com and the ATLGBTQ Hubs mobile app (the “app”), where you can find LGBTQ+ events and the people and organizations behind them. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices. Questions: contact@atlgbtq.com. Our Terms and Conditions are at https://www.atlgbtq.com/terms-and-conditions/.
1. Information we collect
The app
- Account: your first and last name, email address, and password (stored only in protected form by our authentication provider). Your sign-in session is kept on your phone so you stay signed in.
- Your schedule: the sessions and events you add.
- Hubs you follow.
- Saved contacts: if you save a contact, the name, email, phone number, and notes you type, linked to the event you choose. These are other people’s details that you enter yourself; only you can see them.
- Technical logs: standard logs on our servers, such as IP address and request time, created when the app loads data and images.
The website
- Account, comments, and orders: name, email, billing and delivery details, and what you ordered. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
- Forms: when you submit an event, organization, or contact form, the details you enter, including names, emails, phone numbers, links, images, and logos.
- Automatic data: device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, pages viewed, and cookies (section 4).
What the app does not collect
The app does not use your precise location, your device contacts, photos, camera, or microphone, and it does not send push notifications. Tapping an address opens your Maps app with that address.
2. How we use information
- To run the app and website: sign you in, show events, keep your schedule, followed Hubs, and saved contacts.
- To process orders and answer messages and forms.
- To publish events, organizations, and community members’ work that organizers and members submit.
- To keep the service secure and prevent spam and abuse.
- To understand how people use our website and improve it.
- To manage relationships with organizers, sponsors, vendors, and customers.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run ATLGBTQ, and only what they need:
- Hosting, database, authentication, and storage providers for the app and website.
- Email providers, which send sign-in confirmation codes and messages.
- Payment processors and e-commerce tools for website orders.
- Form and customer-relationship (CRM) tools that store submissions and contacts.
- Analytics providers for the website (section 4).
They may use your information only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or in a merger or sale of the business.
Information that organizers submit about their events and organizations is published in the app and website. Your account details, schedule, followed Hubs, and saved contacts are never shown to other users or to organizers.
4. Website analytics and cookies
Our website (not the app) uses:
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though sign-in and checkout may stop working. Where the law requires consent for analytics cookies, we ask for it and you can withdraw it any time.
5. Links and other services
The app and website link to other websites, such as sponsors, vendors, community members, social profiles, and email or phone links. Those sites have their own privacy policies. The “Add your event” button opens a form on our website, which is covered by this policy’s website sections.
6. Events, images, and logos (permission and takedown)
Event details, images, logos, and names shown in ATLGBTQ come from the organizers, sponsors, vendors, and community members themselves, or are used with their permission so we can display them in the app. ATLGBTQ is not a promoter and does not promote events unless a listing explicitly says so.
- When an organizer submits an event or organization through our form, they check a box confirming they have the right to use the images, logos, and text they submit and giving ATLGBTQ permission to display them in the app and on the website. Event details and images you send us are displayed in the app so people can find your event.
- We act on content we have permission to use. If you believe something in ATLGBTQ infringes your rights, or you appear in it and want it changed or removed, email support@atlgbtq.com with what it is, where you see it, and how to reach you. We review requests promptly and remove content that should not be there.
7. How long we keep information
- App account, schedule, followed Hubs, and saved contacts: until you delete your account.
- Orders and financial records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Form submissions and CRM records: as long as needed for their purpose, then deleted or anonymized.
- Website comments: until you ask us to remove them.
- Server logs and analytics data: for the shortest practical period, according to each provider’s settings.
After you delete your account, copies may remain in secure backups for a short time before they are overwritten.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete your app account any time: open the Account screen and tap Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, schedule, followed Hubs, and saved contacts. You can also ask by email at support@atlgbtq.com.
- You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to stop certain uses, by emailing support@atlgbtq.com. We may need to confirm who you are first.
- California residents: you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to not be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.
- Visitors from the EU, UK, and similar regions: you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, and port your data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Our legal bases are providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interests in running and improving it, legal obligations, and your consent where required.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any email.
9. Children
ATLGBTQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, such as encrypted connections, access controls, and protected password storage. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International use
We are based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, with safeguards where the law requires.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app or by email if the changes are significant. If we add features that collect new kinds of information, such as analytics or notifications in the app, we will update this policy first.
